Spurgeon and Starbucks

A good friend and brother in Christ called this morning after reading a book dedicated to the life of Charles Spurgeon. We met at Starbucks and talked for almost 2 hours about Spurgeon, theology in general and the practical applications of God's word in our lives. It was great to discuss and wrestle through together some Bible doctrine. For example we ended up discussing the sovereignty of God as it relates to the free will of man. When someone asked Spurgeon to reconcile these two things he quickly replied "I never try and reconcile friends." Why not grab your Bible, call a friend and meet over a cup of coffee and discuss something of eternal significance like the sovereignty of God. What a great start to this Saturday, thanks for the call Steve.
